NICOLA-DAWN BROOK
Actor/Singer
Hi! Thanks for visiting. Hopefully you've heard of me through the grapevine or just seen a show and read my website in a theatre programme. However or whatever....Welcome.
I am an actor and singer with decades of fun packed years of experience in the entertainment industry. I love what I do and love who I do it with! I feel blessed to share the stage with so many talented people and am grateful, everyday for being able to perform to people every night.
2023 was quite the year.
Firstly had the honour to work with Michael Rubinoff (producer of Come From Away) on his new production of the new musical 'Maggie', originating the role of Betty. It's a beautiful true story of female strength and passion against adversity, based on the life of Johnny Reid's grandmother in Lanark, Scotland.
The production was created by a stellar gang of creatives including Marie-Francis Moore, Matt Murray, Bob Foster and Johnny Reid himself. What an absolute trip it was!!
Then, in August I was asked to join the production of Mamma Mia! in London's West End to play the role of Rosie at the Novello Theatre. It's so magical to be back in Blighty and to be treading the boards where so many amazing artists have stood. You can feel the history as you walk around every corner of the building.

MY ROOTS
I walked on a stage at 3 years of age and never wanted to get off it. It sounds kind of corny, but it's true. I made my professional acting debut in 1983 in a TV movie with Roger Daltrey and Twiggy, and have not looked back. Our house where I grew up was filled with music and laughter. My mum, a pianist and my dad, a singer, were steeped in theatre and always encouraged our creativity. People used to refer to us as the Von Brook's becasue we were like the family in Sound of Music, always putting on a show and making costumes. Learning harmonies was as natural to me as riding a bike. I would sing so loud in school assembly that I would be told to "turn it down". Nothing has changed...
I have made appearances in a number of film, television, circus and theatre productions, working with incredible names in the industry. I love performing; there is something so unbelievably gratifying about playing different roles, while putting my own twist on each performance. It's joyous, liberating and cathartic. I particularly love working on new musicals. The excitement and responsibility of creating something new is such a thrill.
I've traveled the globe several times over, doing what I love. My gratitude is immeasurable.
